The Korean Service Medal is a decoration of the United States military and was created on November 1950 by order of President Harry Truman. The Korean Service Medal is the primary United States decoration for participation in the Korean War and is awarded to any U.S. service member, who performed duty in the Republic of Korea, between June 27, 1950 and June 27, 1954. The United States Department of Defense declared thirteen official campaigns of the Korean War, all of which are annotated by service stars on the Korean Service Medal. Some campaigns apply to all branches of the U.S. military, while others are branch specific.

The United Nations Service Medal
The United Nations Service Medal is an international military decoration which was established by the United Nations on December 12, 1950. The decoration was the first international award ever created and recognized the multi-national defense forces which participated in the Korean War.
The United Nations Service Medal is awarded to any military service member, of an Armed Force allied with South Korea, who participated in the defense of Korea from North Korean aggression between the dates of June 27, 1950 and July 27, 1954.

The Navy Occupation Service Medal is a decoration of the United States Navy which was issued to Navy personnel who participated in the Asian occupation forces following the close of the Second World War.
The Pacific Clasp was authorized for any service performed in the Asiatic Pacific area between the dates of September 2, 1945 and April 27, 1952. The USS TOLEDO served actively for periods in the Korean War from July 1950 through February 1953.
