The morning of June 25, 1950
forces of North Korea's communist regime burst across the 38th parallel and
streamed south to engulf the Republic of Korea (ROK.) Ten days later, the USS
TOLEDO (CA-133) pointed her bow west once more and embarked upon her fourth
cruise to the Orient and her first tour of combat duty. The TOLEDO was one of
the first United States warships to arrive on the scene from the mainland. We
extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to the many shipmates that have
shared their pictures and for their contribution and thoughtfulness that has
allowed the spirit and tradition of this fine ship to stay alive.
